Dr. Badlani has done a monumental task in writing this book on Hindu Faith which has multitudes of interpretations, beliefs and philosophies. Furthermore, descriptions on India, a land of wide arrays of contrasts, denominations, and customs greatly adds to this book. I offer my hearty congratulations to the author for achieving this work.

The book consists of 63-65 short chapters (easy reading) covering myriads of topics including the birth of Cosmos, evolution of mankind, and appearances of Consciousness, spirituality and religion. Author also painstakingly traces the history of Hinduism through a long period during which India went through changing dynasties of rulers. His detailed discussions on the topics of Idol worship and the plethora of Gods & Goddesses in Indian culture are praiseworthy.

In addition to Hindu Faith, author describes many other faiths (religions) that have their origin in Hinduism. Finally, the book includes detailed discussions on Hindu way of life, Hindu society and its various customs, traditions and rituals.

Every reader, including the well versed Hindu will gain knowledge from this book. Though the book is particularly suitable for those Hindus who have been residing abroad for a long time and need to renew their knowledge of this topic, it is also invaluable for the Hindu children, particularly those born in foreign lands, to acquire familiarity with Hindu beliefs and their traditions currently practiced in India. Needless to say, the foreigners (Non-Hindus) would also find this book a good source of knowledge about Hindus, Hinduism and India.

Hinduism is so vast that it is impossible to completely confine it within the boundaries of a book. Even Vedas, the most ancient Hindu scriptures do not contain every aspect, knowledge about Hindu Faith. “Sanathan Dharma” as it was (and still is) called, before acquiring the title of Hindu Dharma, was practiced much before the Vedas came into existence. Many a seers and scholars who have spent their life time studying and understanding this Dharma state that they barely have scratched the surface of it. Still Dr. Badlani has done a great job.
